OUTSIDE Honors Absolute Travel Partner, American Prairie Reserve, in Its Best of Travel 2015

New York, New York (PRWEB) March 12, 2015

This year, OUTSIDEs adventure travel veterans scoured the globe to identify the coolest mountains to climb, food to eat, rivers to float, guides to hire, beaches to lounge on, and lodges to luxuriate in. The result is 30 breathtaking options from the guides to show you around, to the cameras to capture it all, to the places to stay, to the best place to grab a snack at a food truck along the way.

Since 2001, the nonprofit American Prairie Reserve has been working to restore the northern great plains to the pristine condition Lewis and Clark found them in more than 200 years ago, the article states. The resulting reserve, in northeast Montana, is now 305,000 acres. The aim is to reach 3.5 million by 2030, creating a U.S. Serengeti and the largest wildlife park in the lower 48, where herds of elk, mule deer, and bison thrive. But dont wait to go. You can sleep under the stars now at the 11-site Buffalo Camp ($ 10), four miles north of the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge, and take a DIY mountain-biking safari on old ranch roads, passing grazing bison and scanning the skies for American kestrels, Spragues pipits, and Swainsons hawks. Or paddle the Missouri River past pioneer homesteads and historic tepees to Kestrel Camp, a set of five luxurious yurts, each with AC, a hot shower, and a veranda for sundowners (from $ 4,800 for six days).

This is not simply a wildlife reserve in Montanathe American Prairie Reserve is a remarkable comeback story in the making, and an extraordinary gift for humanity, says Absolute Travel president Ken Fish. Just imagine being a part of Yellowstone or Glacier at their inceptions! Absolute Travel is privileged to connect travelers to Americas Serengeti and, together, help create one of the most impressive conservation projects of our timein our own backyard.

Building Americas next great park is an adventure in and of itself, says American Prairie Reserve President Sean Gerrity. So were glad to have OUTSIDEs spotlight shine on all that weve accomplished so far. We hope it will result in more supporters for our ambitious project.

OUTSIDE has been covering the adventure-travel beat for nearly four decades, said Editor Chris Keyes. We know this terrain, and now weve narrowed your choices of hotels, destinations, outfitters, and travel gear from approximately 10.6 million to 30. The final choice is still on you, but now the task is at least manageable.

The complete list of Best of Travel winners will be featured in the April issue of OUTSIDE, available March 17, and already is listed online at http://www.outsideonline.com/adventure-travel/travel-awards/30-Trips-to-Take-This-Year.html. Continue the conversation with #OutsideTravel2015.

About American Prairie Reserve:

Fox World Travel & Conferma Announce Partnership to Offer Virtual Payment Solution

OSHKOSH, WI (PRWEB) March 12, 2015

Fox World Travel and Conferma today announced a partnership to provide clients with an advanced solution in travel payment: the ability to generate on-demand single use virtual credit card numbers (VCNs).

VCN technology provides organizations a secure travel payment option for temporary employees, candidates, infrequent travelers, and travelers without a corporate credit card. VCNs also make post-trip reconciliation more efficient while reducing fraud, loss, and theft associated with traditional corporate cards.

Through integration with Confermas API, Fox is able to offer our clients the ability to apply virtual card payments during both agent assisted and online reservations, said George Kalka, Foxs senior director of account management. Confermas numerous bank relationships and capability to customize card limits, validity, and use restrictions provides our clients with significant flexibility and security measures when implementing this payment solution.

Conferma streamlines the reconciliation process after travel by generating unique VCNs and capturing custom reportable fields for each transaction. VCNs are an attractive solution to move beyond the limitations of hotel direct billing, said Kalka. VCN authorizations are automatically faxed to the hotel multiple times prior to the travelers arrival. Additionally, travelers can access an image of the VCN and re-fax the hotel authorization from a smartphone using Confermas TripPay app.

We are delighted to partner with Fox and have been very impressed by the speed at which they have been able to implement the solution for their customers, commented Simon Barker, CEO of Conferma. “Through the interaction of our respective APIs, Fox can now operate a secure and efficient payment mechanism that offers their clients even more reporting data on their travel spend. Foxs connection to Conferma opens up a gateway of multiple banking and scheme partners to their customer base, providing them with a choice.

Tibet Travel Agency Offers Small Size Tibet Group Tours on Lower Budget for 2015

Lhasa, Tibet (PRWEB) March 27, 2015

Booking Tibet group tours on a budget is now possible for the 2015 travel season with new and improved Lhasa cultural tours by Tibet Ctrip Travel Service (TCTS) (http://www.tibetctrip.com). By matching small travel groups, TCTS is able to reduce per person costs while avoiding the pitfalls of crowded, impersonal, large group tours. Over four days, travelers will visit some of Tibets most important cultural sites and experience Tibets stunning landscapes.

Tony of TCTS has the details:

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa. The travel groups guide will meet them at the airport or train station and accompany everyone to their hotel. Staying well-hydrated and taking time to rest after arrival is the best way to avoid altitude sickness during a tour of Tibet.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Lhasa. While the itinerary is customizable, most enjoy beginning with Potala Palace. Not only is its architecture fantastic and decorations ornate, but it’s also a great place to start learning about Tibetan culture and history. Afterwards, its a short walk over to Jokhang Temple.

Day 3: More sightseeing in Lhasa or take a day trip to Lake Namtso. Those who stay in Lhasa can choose to visit places like Norbulingka (summer palace of the Dalai Lama), Sera Monastery, and Drepung Monastery (home of the Debating Monks). Those who make the trip out to Lake Namtso will enjoy an entire day of beautiful Tibetan scenery!

Day 4: Depending on the groups departure times, there may be an additional chance for last minute exploring or shopping before heading off to the airport or train station. The groups guide will see everyone off at the shuttle stop.

Tibet travel agency TCTS wants to make travelling in Tibet accessible to all travelers. Travelling in Tibet can be a pricey adventure when going at it alone, but with budget tours by TCTS, travelers can retain much of the ease and flexibility of a private tour. With the travel season right around the corner, now is the time to start planning a visit!

Groupize Announces 5 Group Travel Predictions for U.S. Hotels in 2015

Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 28, 2015

By all accounts, 2015 is set to be a banner year for the U.S. hotel industry with occupancy levels reaching their highest point in 20 yearsprojected at 64.8%and ADR continuing upward (PWC). Capturing group travel business will be more important than ever, and hotels that are ready to do business the way todays group planners desire will reap the rewards. To assist hotels with strategizing the crucial group segment, here are our predictions for the coming 12 months.

1. Group demand will be the driving force behind hotel occupancy & higher ADR

In late 2013, group demand was at the lowest point in a downward spiral; however, not only has it shifted, it is anticipated that group demand will reach the highest level in three years in 2015. Every indication is that hotels will see increases in occupancy, group, average ADR, and group ADR this year. Already in the first quarter of 2015, the segment group has had a 2.9% increase in ADR and a 3.7% increase in committed occupancy (NAHR).

2. Yield management will depend on securing advanced bookings for groups

With occupancy at record levels, inventory will be at a prime. Hotels must focus on capturing the groups which typically represent secure advanced reservations 60 days out. Because of inventory pressures, Groups will not be as discounted as in the past, but the ability to secure a base will allow revenue managers to increase rates for last minute bookings.

3. Cross-platform planning changes group organizers needs

Just like hotel leisure guests, planners are juggling smartphones, tablets, and desktops for research and, preferably, for booking as well. Web responsive designs as well as mobile apps that allow planner to manage groups will become the norm rather than the exception. They will expect easy access to capabilities such as e-invitations, payment choices, communication with hotel staff and attendees, and rooming list management at their fingertips.

4. While group occupancy increases, group size decreases

In 2015, groups are changing in many ways, including becoming smaller than the traditional 10-room block. This is especially true with the growing economic power of Millennials, who prefer to travel in groups, and are a connected and tech savvy generation. Hotels will find it profitable to consider any booking of 4 or more rooms as a group.

This necessitates a more efficient process, one like that of Instant Group Bookings and Groupize Hub, which allows group planners digital self-management of the entire process. A self-managed system has enormous appeal to planners, which means it offers a competitive edge for the hotels that adopt it.

5. Hotels will embrace true online group bookings this year to compete with massive third party consolidation

Hotel companies have fallen behind third parties in digital capabilities for meetings and events, but by employing a few digital strategies, they can drive more direct business and impede intermediary growth. Hotels will need to embrace online group bookings this year to compete with massive third party consolidation, such as Cvent acquiring Elite Meetings.

Group e-channels target a new segment: smaller, simpler meetings that are more transactional in nature and historically have seen much lower levels of intermediation. If intermediation levels on these smaller meetings reach that of larger meetings, we could see overall intermediation rates increase as much as 10%, costing hoteliers an additional $ 350 million to $ 400 million per year in commissions. Ease of transaction and speed of response also are key to win the business. (Source: http://www.hotelnewsnow.com/Article/14767/3-ways-to-win-the-group-customer-online)

This year, Groupize Solutions anticipates 8,000-10,000 hotels will make the leap to Instant Group Booking, which means group planners will be able to complete the whole process digitallystart to finish.

In Conclusion

The bottom line is that the hotels that are evolving the way they handle group business and embracing new technologies, will benefit most from the predicted surge of group travel in 2015. While it requires re-tooling some processes, ultimately sales teams will be more efficient, and the hotel product will be more attractive to planners in what is determined to become a highly competitive market.

Travel and Leisure Magazine Places Mirror Lake Inn in the Lake Placid Adirondack Region among Worlds 500 Best Hotels

Lake Placid, NY (PRWEB) January 22, 2015

The latest issue of Travel + Leisure Magazine has included Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid in its list of their 500 best hotels worldwide.

In a breakdown by state, the lakeshore resort overlooking Mirror Lake was seventh best in all of New York State. It graded ahead of such landmarks as the Mandarin Oriental in Manhattan, Peninsula New York, Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, Hotel Elysee Midtown East and the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing.

Its the only property in Lake Placid and the Northern Adirondacks to appear on the list.

If one is known by the company they keep, then this latest accolade says a lot about the Mirror Lake Inn and our employees, said resort owner Ed Weibrecht. Travelers know what Travel + Leisure Magazine represents. Its the best of the best. In that same way, we consider our hotel staff among the best in the hospitality business. The level of service they provide makes honors like this possible.

Mirror Lake Inn ownership has continually reinvested in its 131 lodging units over the years. Along with service, it is another reason for the continuing strong ratings from luxury travel publications.

In its most recent renovation initiative, the inns ownership targeted 106 rooms in 2014. At this time, over 90 percent of those rooms have been completed.

In its Mountain View building, the exterior walls of the Classic Rooms are now almost exclusively glass (wall to wall and floor to ceiling) with French style, sliding doors that can be opened to the outside, thus offering plenty of fresh mountain air and a balcony feel.

The square footage of these rooms has increased 20 percent.

These rooms have been outfitted with recessed lights for reading over each bed and additional outlets to accommodate todays connected traveler. The rooms are situated for both families and couples. Most offer increased panoramic views of the lake and mountains.

All of these major upgrades have occurred while the resort maintains its streak of 30 consecutive years of Four Diamond exceptional rating from AAA.

You thought of everything. The best hotel experience ever. We feel like a guest in a friends home rather than being in a hotel. M.M., Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Enjoyed the balcony-turned-sitting-room. Nice that one could be up early and read without disturbing the other. H.W., Albany, N.Y.

The inn is beautiful. Your entire staff was friendly. What a view from this room! Our meals at The View were outstanding. We enjoyed the huge, delicious breakfast. We are looking forward to returning. B.T., Lockport, N.Y.

The hotels attention to detail and aggressive approach in upkeep positions it perfectly for the winter season which will continue into April in the Lake Placid Adirondack Olympic region.

The Mirror Lake Inn is partnering with nearby Whiteface Mountain in helping new and novice skiers master the mountain via the trademarked Parallel From The Start program.

Using shorter skis and teaching concepts that incorporate familiar movements, Whiteface Mountains ski school will get patrons to the top of Little Whiteface Mountain in a matter of days. The three-day instructional program costs $ 169 and includes a lift ticket, equipment and lessons ($ 129 for one day).

Also, the hotel offers a four-for-three package, in which guests staying for three nights get the fourth nights lodging and lift tickets free.

When guests days are complete, they can return for the inns complimentary tea and house-made chocolate chip cookies in the living room; or have a drink at The Cottage Caf

Affluents Will Travel in New Luxury Style This Year: Learn the Prospects and Opportunities for Serving the Luxury Traveler in 2015 in a New Unity Marketing Study

Stevens, PA (PRWEB) January 15, 2015

At any time about one-half of affluents are planning a vacation within the next six-months, according to a new research study about affluents’ luxury travel plans for 2015, from Unity Marketing. But this year, they are looking for new luxury travel experiences at a discount price.

For those that operate a travel business or serve the travel market, this trend report, Affluents Will Travel in New Luxury Style in 2015, reveals the new luxury style for this year’s affluent traveler. It is a guide to capture some of the roughly $ 8,000 they expect to spend on their next vacation. It reveals detail research data from a new survey among n=1,330 affluent consumers about their travel plans for this year, as well historical data from Unity Marketing’s quarterly Affluent Consumer Tracking Studies from 2008-1H2014, in order to track trends and shifts in this year’s market.

Affluents plan to take 3 vacations on average in 2015, but they are waiting till the last minute to book. This works in their favor, as they carefully research all the available options, compare the many promotional offers received, and tap the internet and social media for reviews and recommendations. For travel planning, they are more DIY in 2015 and using travel professionals less than in 2013.

Further, due to growing global unrest and the Department of State issuing a ‘worldwide caution’ on January 9, 2015, it only makes sense to wait till the time is right.

Click this link to learn the top destinations for luxury travelers in 2015.

“This year the share of affluents who are undecided about their travel plans more than doubled from Unity Marketing’s 2013 luxury travel study. Further, the projected budget for their next vacation is lower than we’ve tracked since 2009,” Pam Danziger, president of Unity Marketing and author of the new study says. “Consumer uncertainty and lack of confidence is never a good sign for marketers and that is the environment that travel marketers face this year.”

More affluents are undecided about travel plans & waiting for the last minute

Danziger continues, “The saying goes, ‘Hope for the best, but plan for the worst,’ and that should be the mantra for travel marketers this year. Given all the factors that can impact people’s willingness to travel, especially overseas, travel marketers need to plan that their customers will be harder to commit to proposed trips this year. Those customers will be more demanding when it comes to getting the most for their investment and may look more aggressively to cut expenditures. Further, this may be an especially good year for the travel insurance business.”

Travel rewards programs less rewarding in 2015

Another interesting trend found in this year’s survey is that rewards programs, like those offered by the airlines, hotels and credit card companies, are less motivating for affluents in 2015 than two years ago. A growing share of affluents have no plans or are undecided if they will redeem rewards for travel this year. Further affluents report being less influenced by collecting rewards points in their choice of travel provider.

“Overall travel rewards programs are less rewarding to affluents in 2015 than in 2013. Since travel marketers rely heavily on rewards programs to market their services, this is an important call to action. It points to the need for travel providers to focus their marketing and rewards programs toward rewards that are more meaningful and motivating to affluent travelers. Saving money is always welcome, but just offering rewards in the form of discounts and savings may no longer be the ticket to building a loyal and high-spending customer base,” Danziger says.

About Affluents Will Travel in New Luxury Style in 2015 trend report

Tapping a new survey of over 1,300 affluent travelers about their plans for travel in 2015 and perspective from six years of market research data, Unity Marketing reveals what’s on the mind of today’s luxury traveler. The new trend report, Affluents Will Travel in New Luxury Style in 2015, digs deeply into the spending habits and preferences of high-net-worth (HNW) and high-earners-not-rich-yet (HENRY) individuals.

In this report, travel marketers will learn:
