The prestigious recognition is given to an individual or group who has made significant contributions to the field of rehabilitation. Solmar Hotels and Resorts Executive in Attendance at Recent Summit in New York

In an effort to assist in the recovery efforts of the city of Cabo San Lucas since Hurricane Odile made landfall on September 14, some of the areas top tourism officials and resort executives made their way to New York. There they met with tour operation CEOs, airline executives an even an ambassador to discuss and make a plan to restore Cabo as quickly as possible.

For two hours, the 48 representatives from their respective companies discussed a recovery strategy and a campaign that is set to hit the public on October 15. The campaigns main goal is to assure tourists around the world that Cabo is alive, thriving and is still one of the top vacation destinations in the world shares Solmar Hotels and Resorts.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mexico Tourism Board CEO Rodolfo Lopez Negrete shared that the individuals assembled were directly responsible for bringing 95 percent of North American visitors to Cabo each year. In an area where the entire city depends on the strength of its tourism industry, the Mexican federal government has allocated $ 5 million to help Cabo rebuild before the high season of travel.

Solmar Hotels and Resorts shares that all utilities to the area are scheduled to be up and running within the next week, and that many resorts will be open and operational by October 15. During the meeting, the director of airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, Fernando Bosque, shared that the major airlines of Delta, Southwest, Spirit and Virgin America would all be starting up flights again to Los Cabos around October 8. In addition, most of the golf courses, restaurants, and activity companies will be up and running in time to welcome the first crop of guests back to Cabo San Lucas as well.

Los Cabos. Unstoppable, was the theme that came out of the meeting, with an entire social media and public relations campaign focused on showcasing Cabos readiness to receive visitors for the high season of travel. In addition, fundraising events will be held to assist those whose livelihoods and homes were affected by the storm, something that many of the resorts have already taken upon themselves. Solmar Hotels and Resorts has been actively collecting donations to assist in the relief efforts of its valued staff, many of whom lost everything in the storm. The company is collecting monetary donations, food and clothing to distribute to staff and their families in the Los Cabos area.

A Night on The Town with The Relentless Theater, Oct. 18 at The Chambers Hotel, New York

The Relentless Theater Company announces their third annual fundraiser this year to take place at The Chambers Hotel on Tuesday October 18th from 6 PM to 8 PM. The event, aptly named A Night on the Town, will honor three women who have made a huge difference in the lives of others and are each legends in their own rights: Model, actress and fundraiser Sherry B. Brofman, along with celebrated make up artist to the stars, Paula Dorf and Rosalie Edson, who was recently listed as one of the top 12 woman business owners in the US.

The MC for the evening is guitar and song writer Carlos Alomar who has played on more David Bowie albums than any other six stringer. Expected guests include Ben Vereen, Spike Lee, Tony Dennison and Theresa Rebeck along with some of the theater industrys most respected actors, writers and playwrights.

This years event is expected to raise the bar substantially despite last years very successful event at which over $ 100K was raised. Tickets for this event are $ 500.

The honorees will be receiving an array of incredible gifts, all in a custom made bag from the Point Knitting Cafe, including a 3-night stay at the exclusive safari lodge, Tintswalo, located within the Greater Kruger National Park as well as a premium gift box from Jo Malone. From its modest beginnings in LA to its most recent success in New York, The Relentless Theater Company (RTC) has remained a theater committed to exploring various characteristics of the American experience. Its recent production, Jigsaw Nation, by Haley Finn, Marjorie Louis, Gary Winter and Malachy Walsh-who was last years recipient of Best Play writing at The New York International Fringe Festival, was extremely well received at this years New York International Fringe Festival. RTC is committed to making a difference in the lives of the community and that is established by the way of donations to charities and scholarships for at risk youths while giving them the exposure to the theater arts as interns on its productions.

Executive director Olivia Honegger says It is not the intent of RTC to make theater artists out of theses kids. We use theater as an alternative way to help kids discover the self confidence to know what it is they want to do and then go for it. They have had great success doing so as in one great story of a young man, named Alpha Bah, from Africa who was sent to the USA by his parents for a better life. He was moved into a foster home after it was discovered that he had been abused by the relatives that were supposed to be taking care of him. He has been in this country three years and has taught himself English and has proven to be an extraordinary poet and playwright.

After mentoring with RTC he has gone on to DePaul University and through the tireless efforts of RTCs board and staff received an $ 18,000 scholarship and is looking forward to a very bright future.

As a bonus for the scholarship kids that will be attending the event, Russell and kimora Lee Simmons have generously outfitted them head to toe in the latest from Phat Farm and Baby Phat.

Thais Flowers have been seen in the hands and hair of Dia Wall, Kelley Price, Erykah Badu, Carols Daughter Lisa Price, with notable photographers, models and in the hair of the Guinness World Records Largest Afro Aevin Dugas. Thais Flowers have even made their way to the Stellar Awards. Thais first runway show was earlier this year in Houston, Texas at the Big Girls Rock fashion show. Thais recently competed in AIN: Accessories in the Nude the largest competition of its kind exclusively for accessory designers where her designs were judged by some of the fashions industrys leading experts in Dallas, Texas.
